yup

Very true, I know Kyle fairly well and he isn't like the type to beat on anything. He drove like a grandma so it's the perfect car. :)

I drive like a grandpa 99% of the time as well. :) After snapping the axel on the old 3.0L, I figured that was enough fun.

it happens, when you beat the ever living piss out of an engine for 98,000 miles...

Who is this and how the heck do you break a timing chain?

I heard it was a pile of crap, and I'd be very suspicious that it's a broken timing chain. Especially on our cars since you would have to pull at least the intakes and valve cover(s) off to see the timing chains. I'd bed the motor just grenaded and he doesn't have a better explanation.

I already looked at it he's asking too much for what it is. Paint is so so, steelies, and bad motor. He'd have to sell it for well under $1k for it to be worth it.

Does it matter? You're going to get rid of it in 6 months anyway, so go for whichever will resell better

The Solara was a Toyota, nothing else needs to be said. :p

I give it a good year. :) The resale on Saab's is horrible. That is why, the car in 2003, was $35,000...and now I can get it for $4,000. My BMW was $31,000 in 04 and I can still get $14,000 for it.

I really liked the way the Saab drove, shifted, looks etc....but one thing that is holding me back is not being able to drop the oil pan and checking the sump on it. I guess up to the 03 model, oil would sludge up and block the sump so the engine would blow up. Good idea having the cat right under the oil pan.....

I have a feeling, tomorrow I will be driving to hinkley to pick me up a CSVT....it has also has about 30 more ponies to the wheels with no turbo lag

You know you would be back looking at CSvt in the next month if you didn't pick it up :p

While no lag is nice, I have to say boost is fun, even in my XT outback wagon.

if your looking at getting that t-red, dont pay a penny over 3500 for it.

Yup. That is what he is willing to sell it for. I figure with the wheel bearing replaced and the carbon fiber trunk, that is around where it would be. I should be going down there tonight...if it isn't completely trashed, I should be getting it.
