Didn't come that color, had it painted. Came in fugly purple.

It came in "fugly purple", so you painted it fugly green?

My high school car. First purchased new in 67 by my grandfather, handed down to my father, who let me drive it until the C4 exploded.

Very cool.

You must have worked somewhat hard to blow it up -- and had some fun in the process -- they were good trannies. Great car, regardless.

My littlest brother's first car was a 67 Cougar that he still owns. I need to dig up a picture of it and put it on here.

Are those led washer nozzles I see:laugh:

No, they were supposed to be those kind that lit up neon green to match the car, but I didn't like the way the wires looked under the hood, so I cut the wires out, but left the nozzles in there because they were still functional, they just didn't light up.

Great thread and some great first cars.
Mine on the other hand...

Yes I had a K car. A 1989 Dodge Aries K.
I wish I had a picture of this and my Mystique side by side but I didn't think of taking one when I had them both.

The cars I've been through since I had my license.
1. The K car (Long gone, wish I knew where it was now)
2. The Mystique
3. The Escort
4. 92 Grand Am (Sold) (GF's)
5. The Blazer (GF's)

1987 Ford Taurus MT-5 Wagon.

It had a slightly modified Tempo 2.3 HSC four-cylinder with a longer stroke specific to Taurus applications, providing 2.5 liters. It was no barnburner, but the torque peak was at 2600 RPM, and every shift would land you in the heart of the powerband. It also sported very tall gearing, pulling about 3100 RPM at 90 MPH. At a more reasonable speed, it achieved a record high of 32.6 miles per gallon.

What's more, it also sported black 7-inch wide racing stripes, set 7 inches apart, spanning the entire length of the car. This, combined with white letter tires, a Covercraft bra, and foglights mounted under the bumper, made for quite an imposing visage. It was a great car, and I really liked being able to change the oil filter standing up -- it was reachable from underhood. Ran her almost 182,000 miles.

i wish i coulda seen that!!!!!!

My first car was a 1989 Ford Tempo GLS 2.3 HSC H.O. also known as the HSO....

In my opinion, probably one of the cleanest Tempo's I've ever seen... i tried anyways.

95_Mystique, your tempo actually looks good for a tempo. U got some props from me on the looks part of it, except for the flame stickers along the bottom of the windows. yucky!

Thanks a lot man, that means a lot. thats what $5,000 looks like on a $500 car with 250,000 miles on it. i agree with the flame sticker/pin stripe. I was just practicing for when my buddy brought over his dad's stratus for pin striping cuz i never did it before. So i figured i'd practice on my car first so i wouldnt mess up his... but on the Tempo, i atleast had a line there already, the Stratus didnt. but i guess it didnt come out too bad.

Ed Rooney's car. :)

Dennis Franz drove one in the first season episode of Hunter entitled "The Snow Queen." He played the Sgt. Jackie Molinas, the villain, and sported brown polyester slacks that were a touch too short, revealing his white socks. Quite a look. Great show, though.
