I have the cougar knob also.

When I first got my CSVT I ordered a knob from an Escort Cosworth. Same shape and dimensions of the stock Contour knob, but the shift-pattern insert was black on chrome instead of white on black. I liked that it was just different enough. Then I got my Cosmo racing short shifter and the "Square-ish" knob looked out of place. Too big a knob on too small a shifter.. The cougar knob was perfect. Smaller and rounded... I like it.. Good tactile feel to it.

My old roomate used to have the Mazda Protege Speed with just about the same exact knob.. I kind of like them but I think a little something at the top is needed to have the full 'feel' to the knob..

Don't get me wrong, your car is extremely nice and I want one 'til the day I day Goonzey but, I would have kept the stocker over that one

he's just jealous goonz. dont pay any attention to him

my post was a joke. I don't know if anybody noticed, but when he first posted it was a picture of the poop by his headlight. It was not a picture of the shift knob. I was making fun of the fact that he posted a picture of poop when he meant to post a pic of a shift knob.

No jealousy here. If I really wanted a G35 I would just go buy one. I can afford it, but if I were to buy an infiniti coupe it would be the new G37 when it comes out. I am not so sure I would fit in one though. I recently test drove 350Z's, and I only fit comfortably in the convertibles. I have been very tempted to get a new car, but my inability to chose a new car has kept me from doing so. I am not 100% positive of what I want to be making payments on for the next three or four years.

g35 is more roomier inside, thats for sure. The 350Z have more of a bubble roof which is why its kinda hard for tall people to fit in it. Part of the reason why I did a 2 year lease was so when my lease is up, depending on my financial position, I will lease the newer g37 coupe. We will see what happens with that though.

As for the shift knob, I was surprised how precise of a throw it gave while shifting. 90% of the coupe owners get the Nismo shift knob as their first mod, I can see why now :)
