What did you do to your Contour today?

Changed coolant and thermostat. Tested old t-stat; it was stuck closed. Resolved to put in new t-stat at every coolant change henceforth. For some reason Contours wear them out fast. Maybe it's the relatively high temps, mostly pushing 212F.

Finally got around to replacing my oil pan gasket. Now I don't have to worry about my car going up in flames every time I take it on a long drive...

not today but Friday sent a complaint request to the NY DMV About the place that I took my car to get my clutch replaced in JUNE and they still don't have it running yet:mad:

Nothing significant added a battery box from another contour. Mine just had the metal tray.

Keeps cheap a#$ Wal-Mart battery covered lol.

Got the brake system working in the way I want it to work. Had to basically rebuild the system to accomplish that. Also found that the booster rod to be shorter than it should be. Adjusted it and found it to be loose. Ended up rethreading it with a pipe thread tap and had to make a bolt that would stay snug in the main shaft without it turning over time. No room to use a locknut.

Check the CEL. P0136 and a p0401. I'll have those fixed some time soon, and have to see why I have no heat. Then it'll be up for sale.

New radiator, new Ford thermostat (don't get the aftermarket btw), block flowed just to be sure, temp running spot on now and I know because the secondary temp gauge in the pod now has it's own sending unit. New used gauge cluster (needed much tedious repair) with new indiglo/multi-blue inverter to match the pod. The pod lights are now dimmable - very nice when taking a left turn at night! Tach and speedo were synched perfectly thanks Shawn! Locking problem finally solved: the issue was with the sensor in the passenger door; the repair didn't hold so now it has a new used one. Rear window kept binding; now fixed. Left rear window now works due to new used switch with matching blue led. Master door switch repaired (child lock was causing problems) but now I have a backup - complete with modded blue leds - just in case this acts up again. New Infinity Kappa 6 1/2 (adapter modded to fit the 6x8 holes) with remote tweets in the front sail panels. No more crappy beat-up beauty cap eyesore, plus dispersion is much better now. New Infinity powered Sub in trunk is a very nice. Hushmat in the front doors, working on the trunk next. Many more mods to come in the future. I would post some photos here but I don't have photobucket.

Followed the directions I found on here to fix my sticking throttle issue. Hard to believe that a $1.00 1/2 inch copper cap with a 3/16 hole fixed the problem. Thanks for the thread.

Finished the passenger side strut and LCA replacement. Started the drivers side strut replacement. F-cking lower nut on the old strut did not want to come off. I bent a perfectly good 6mm Craftsman allen wrench trying to get it off. Time for beer and aspirin.

No Title

Spent 13 hours pulling the top end off the engine. 1/4 inch of carbon in the LIM, and solid blockage in the secondary ports.1/2 inch of carbon in the head bank 1 and slightly better o bank 2. Found major leaks at the intake and rear vacuum hoses. Not exactly happy with the one cam on bank 2 though. Notice that surface rust was on the main shaft of the cam, not on the runners or bearing surfaces though. Also found wax buildup on the inner part of the head next to the cams. Someone likely used Pennzoil oil in the thing.

Did find the cleanout to be much easier than usual, since I have done a water injection and seafoam cleanout a couple times. The water and seafoam likely loosened it up a lot, but it was very sticky and easy to clean with carb cleaner. I think the back cat still is partially blocked yet, which that might be cleanable.

Well... Ive been busy again over the past 2 weeks! Scored a damn near brand new set of Mystique headlights, grille, and header panel, as well as a MNB Mystique dash (all of which have been installed)! New shift knob. Both front fenders for a "project". Got some more work done to my lip spoiler. Worked out a deal for a pre-98 center console (waiting for arrival). Also got the car in the shop and got my charging issue worked out so now I can move on to getting it back on the road by Sunday. Picking up the windshield tomorrow and dropping it off for inspection. Also...FINALLY settled on a color!!!

Front end swap

Color choice (quick spray)

Replaced blower fan motor on the Zetec because it would keep popping the fuse. Ended up hitting deer 3 hours later..... Luckily it only shattered my pretty svt grill and hood.

On Tuesday I actually drove and then washed both cars. Wanted to swap wheels on the cars but my jack stopped working. Gassed up the SeVT and had I called an Escort with a body kit and then proceeded to have the charge pipe blow off the turbo twice. The second time was moments after the first ... but all I had done was push the pipe back into the coupler. So that wasn't to surprising. Anyway, they are more or less tucked away for the winter now.

after a 6 month fiasco with the trans shop I took it to ,I finally DROVE it home under it's own power .About damn time ,still need to correct a few things though

purchased an addco rear sway bar as a progressive step towards modding my rear subframe assembly. still need tubulae toe arms and then i will drop the subframe for modding
