Anyone done it? I don't have an issue with removing the front bumper.

I cant imagine it being a problem. I towed my mx6 which had a similar front lip with zero problems. Worst case scenario is you jack the front end up a little to get the wheels into place.

Never done it, but I think the biggest thing would be how high it lifts the nose, and whether the rear bumper can touch the ground, which would be dependant on the height of the dolly itself of course.

yes u can, scrapes a little on the bottom of the front bumper. Remove it if you are worried about it scraping. Fat tires and stock ride height.

Sweet, thanks. Now I have to figure out how to rent a full size pickup from enterprise and a dolly from u haul. I'm guessing some lying is going to need to happen.

If you have a modified exhaust or it is protruding from the rear bumper at ALL, be careful with the angle.

Like Rara said, that will depend on the individual trcuk you use (how high the ball is) and which dolly you get (how high the tongue is)

Yah, we used a drop hitch to get the dolly to about the same angle as the car tows at. That maximizes the clearance for the front and the sides and doesn't favor one or the other.

Friggin $900 one way with uhaul with a 10' truck and flatbed trailer. Why doesn't anyone rent a full size truck with a hitch. Guessing becaue some idiot will ow too much and wreck the trans. Uhaul wants $400 just for a trailer! They cut $200 off with truck rental. Ghey!

There are a couple of rental car companies that have trucks..

PM me some details (pick up and drop off cities/locations) and dates etc and I will see what I can do.. we have two travel agents in the house/family that can get some discounts for you if we can find anything..

Haha true. Actually it will be a parts car so no worries as long as the rear bumper isn't cracked.

Hey Todd, either PM me as well or throw a couple details out here. I've moved cars across country a couple of times myself. If I can help you either personally or with more ideas I will. Depending on where & when, I might even consider a move service/wrench services(or even parts) partial trade.

Damn you werent kidding about fat tires. They look like they hogged the wheel well.

No kidding.. all the pricing I am getting isn't much (if any) better than you found.. 860.00 one way, etc.

Talk with SVTMiG.. maybe he can help you personally, etc..

Damn... not cheap to rent and DIY

I had a friend who rented the UHaul truck and rigged a way to get it into the back of the truck to avoid that extra cost.
