I also decided against the jaguar s type 3l. Going to go with a final year 3l with vvt, and a nice sized turbski, this is going to be the ultimate

these junkyards over here in Washington have 20 3.0’s in each yard and they’re 250 bucks. I’m going to grab what I can find next year. I haven’t researched it yet. Thanks for tip I’m going to read up on it. Also I’m not going to expect long life from these motors because of how I’m going to thrash them anyways. Pop and swap is my plan

My mind changes about what I’m doing with the car as I think about it over the days but over time the complete picture comes into focus. Bc camber plates are on the way, I’ve got almost all the parts ready, Haltech is here with the premium harness, Audi r8 coilpacks and connectors here,1999 wiring diagram book is on the way, made a set of tubular control arms. Prt strut tops are here, all the loom tapes heat shrink and harness coverings etc. second thoughts on the rear coilover brand, trying to decide between Viking or qa1…. Just a quick update, going to probably use this Jaguar intake to fit the r8 coils buddy has a 3l one aswell if I like it better…. It’s coming together very nicely. Electric Steering column is done too. I have been enjoying the weather and taking a break but will start again in June

Well another step is done, for anyone trying to put camber plates on bc coilovers, the coilovers do not have enough threads. I had to put them on the lathe and machine the rod down 17mm to get the nut to screw on. Anyways here’s a pic of what I did last night

And that goes for contour bc coilovers with Nissan 240sx BC camber plates, to use the prt strut tower plates

05 Mazda mpv 3l 93k miles should suffice, got it out in coeur d’alene Idaho. When I pulled the the transmission off the motor found out that the wrist pin or whatever you call it on the differential inside the auto trans had launched out the blocked rendering it useless with a large hole in the side of the trans. Ran great. Let it run for 30 minutes to monitor condition. (second photo is by the guy who sold it to me)

Forgot to mention I also picked up my dashboard setup finally, 07 Jaguar X type black dash (50 bucks with light peel easy fix though) I contemplated tan but decided I wanted the black dash and to buy the carbon inserts for it but they want 1,200 for the set of carbon for lhd, I will find one in a junkyard…I ended up getting a mint set of African sapelle wood instead for 4 dollars.

My plan of attack for now is to order the rear coilovers, and put the roll cage in so I can mount my steering column. 3L is going to be light work.

Great progress man! I’d like to have an AWD configuration to help put power down with my turbo setup. Maybe one day I’ll pull the trigger but for now I can live through you. I am curious how the transfer case would hold up though so you’ll have to let us know!

Quick update, just got back from the nw regional van show, 1 week van show party in Montana, won most radical rig, anyways jumped right back into contouring… I’m on a day by day 9 am to 11pm grind to get this thing in. Old motor is out. I’m going to make sure every part is beautiful. Nut and bolt. I’ve got intake spacers being made and a st220 intake on the way from Europe. Here’s the 3l motor so far. Ignore the beat oil filter I have a new one lol. Enjoy

I know it’s just a racecar but with such a pretty engine why not shave and wire tuck the engine bay…. I’ve been welding and grinding all day. Using the pink cars roof skin for filler plates…. Anyways I’ll be back when I’m getting closer

It’s been a long 2 days…. But all the 150 plus holes and raised edges are welded and grinded down… today is filler day and then a crap ton of sand and repeat. Hoping to get the primer laid down today.
