And I could use some help.

I just sent Albert Mirko a deposit to hold the mold for me.

Once I get it I will make splitters out of what ever material we want.

I want to make one for myself out of carbon fiber or gray and black kevlar.

I was thinking if we all pitched in 25-50 a piece it would cover the molds cost.

He is hard to understand over the phone but I believe he has two molds to give me.

What does everyone think?

Also. I won't be trying to go into the business of splitter making I just didn't want us all to lose something so important. I won't be trying to make any profit when I make and sell them. I am doin it for the fun and learning experience. Plus to help out the CEG'ers. :)

Actually with xmas comin up I dunno if anyone will be able to donate to the cause. He is only asking 500 for the molds. which is great obviously.

I will be up in his area early December so I would need the 500 by then.

ok time to go change spark plugs! :(

Something doesn't sound right about this at all.......

Are you sure you didn't just put a deposit on an actual splitter? Since when has Mirko Racing ever offered to sell the splitter mold to anyone?

I know it sounds amazing but I emailed him asking if i could pick a SPLITTER up cuz i was gonna be in town.

Albert Mirko wrote back saying he has none left and they don't make anymore because of lack of demand.

then he said he would sell me the mold and to call him at his number. I think it is his personal number. 408 area code

Trust me it is legit. I can forward or post the email from him on here if need be.

I KNOW SOMEONE on here thinks this is an incredible opportunity! Just like I think it is and we have got to take advantage!!!! :help:

I'm sorry but we're out of them and aren't making any more due to lack of demand...

I can sell you the mold if you want to find a mfr to make them for you..

Call me 408-710-19XX

Thank you,

Albert Mirko

AND If I buy 5 or more can I get a better deal on them?

Thank you!!

COME ON GUYS!

I know we don't want to lose this mold!

What are we gonna do?

WHAT IF he sells it to some skouche who demands 500 a splitter and does horrible quality.
We will only have what we have on our cars. FOREVER!

:(

That makes more sense now. I didn't realize he decided to stop making them.

I would definitely love another Mirko made in something better than fiberglass. They are way to fragile.

ok. update.

I sent a deposit so now balance due is only 400 to take deliver of something worth billions. :)

Who wants to help?

Those of you who donate will get a splitter at absolute lowest cost ever and maybe even cheaper if I have the mold then i'll pay for some materials like EPOXY resin, mold release, etc. etc. because i will just by large quantities, so realistically you will be paying for CF or whatever material you choose plus shipping. THAT'S IT!!!

come on everyone.

lets do this.

My paypal is ILLKreations@hotmail.com

Put in email, for splitter mold with amount you contribute.

I've already put in 115 plus i plan to save at least 100 more.

Personally, I dont like the idea of giving you money to buy the mold. Either buy it in full or pass the offer to someone else.

if i get the money to buy it we save the mold so

A) we don't lose it to the trash can
B)so ass doesnt get it and charge 500-750 for a splitter.

those who contribute will get a splitter at a HUGE discount.
and can get it in their choice of fabric/color.

I have found a few sites that sell good quality fabric for molding auto parts.

What kind of discount? Say I give $50, would I be looking at $100 in the near future to get one shipped from you to me? Making it $150 total. Or somewhere around there. Also what if you buy it decide its too complicated. What assurance is there that my $$ wont go to nothing?

+1

I sent you a PM, Doc

with a mold like this it won't be to difficult. The hardest part will be getting the mold(s) to my house. but i've figured that out.

But I like that idea.

contribute 50-100 and that will be subtracted off of your first splitter.
it will still cost to get one but roughly 100-200 depending on materials.

These are all estimates though so don't hold me to them.

here is an image and list of material to make the splitter out of. .

most likely a higher quality fiberglass or just more layers will be most economic, in value and stability aspects.

I give my word if you contribute YOU WILL get a splitter!

Whomever contributes.

Eventually I will be molding trunks, hoods, fenders, etc. to have molds to make CF and/or fiberglass, lighter, stronger parts.

I want to create a simple cowl hood maybe 2" with simple louvers to vent engine heat. nothing insane looking. Just simple and effective!

I like the idea of this but you need to recognize that if people put in money for this they are part owner of the mold until they are at least reimbursed.

Secondly I think you will have more success if you give those who are contributing to the purchase a better deal than just returning their money when they get a splitter. For example, if I gave you $50 to buy the mold, I would expect more than a $50 discount for putting my money at risk.

Good luck, looking forward to seeing what happens here.
