Its getting to be that time again: 2009 CEG Calendar

exactly. the people who make it into the calendars worked very hard to get their cars looking the way they do. what would you rather see? a bone stock, rusted out 97 contour gl or a highly modified, low mileaged svt?

so if it's not an svt, it's prone to rust, high miles & is never modded?

There is absolutely no bias toward SVTs vs non for the pictures chosen for the calendar.
More SVT owners tend to submit pictures of their cars than non SVT owners, which is why there are less non SVTs in the calendar.

ALL OWNERS are encouraged to submit pictures.
As was already said, clean cars, good angles and scenery are what people want regardless of the year or mods.

not at all!!!!! im am not prejudice against non-svt's! im just saying a car that isnt clean, and dent/rust free(for the most part) wont make it in. as long as blemishes in the car arent visible, you're golden!

September? found it today. absolutely NOTHING salvageable. everything of value was gone except the seats which werent perfect in the least

Did anyone else immediately think, "It's got a good bumper! Get it! GET IT!!!!!!"

i went back to get it for todras and the car was already crushed. i knew the previous owner. he was a crazy russian that barely spoke english. almost bought it. 70k on the clock and he only wanted 2,000 for it

If anyone is interested in seeing my "preliminary" photo shots for this year's calendar, here's a link to my album. Comments and suggestions welcome. Just remember that this was the first session of many. ^.^ Also, just to let you know for those of you who like to "explore" my other public albums, that there may be some NSFW pics I use for a "fake" myspace account.

i would say wet sand and buff those headlights, that was my downfall the first year i entered

I would but there is no way I can possibly do it this year. Okay... a very SLIM chance I won't be able to this year. I'm not living at home, don't have the tools, don't know how to fix them on my own, don't have money for gas to drive to someone's place to have them do it for me. So yeah... I can just do what I can to make it look as nice a possible for the situation I'm in. Being a poor college student sucks.

I do like that one. Nice coloring in the back ground (maybe move a little bit away from the curb), nice angle (maybe need to be a little bit lower). Just needs cleaner headlights. And you can just go out and get a $5 bottle of plasic X and some 2000 grit sand paper and go to town. $10 later new looking lights.

Looks great, Moonlight! BTW, El-Retardo (hehe. I made a name-funny:laugh:), my 200-grit only cost me $1.25 for a 2'X2' sheet.

Here's my tentative ideas for entries. Tell me what I need to do to improve things:cool:

cobrawannabe...i like the first shot, but the others are blurry

here are my tips (although i think they are outlined every year in the first post but i like to stress them and pass them on :) )

-CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN Car! - CLEAN damnit! that means tire shine and no bugs on the bumper or dirt going up the side from the front wheels
-no people in background (or garages = no driveway shots)
-make sure your power anteana is down
-interesting and appealing background! (pic up a car magazine or check previous years calenders)
-and im in the same boat with this one since my car is pretty much bone stock, you gotta step it up with the clean factor/background while still focusing in on the car

those are my tips...take em or leave em :) the past 3 years i have entered pics i have probably taken over 200 pics a year (my car got nominated in '06/'08 and got in the calender for '07)

goodluck and i cant wait to see some pics! :)

here's a couple pics. the first one is to show you what a clean car looks like. see how you can see the city through the shimmer of the paint? now this was a few years before i beat teh snot out of it, when i still cared enough to wax it every friday.

this is one i entered last year. its about centered on the cover of last year's calendar. my downfall was the camera, i need to get my girlfriend a better one so she can take good pics.

they really frown on the telephone pole in the pictures too.... but this picture it was meant to be in the picture. it gives more of a feel of the area, and its not like the power lines are showing in it or anything. i think its a great picture, but it definately isnt good enough to be in the calendar
