Yeah... the timing of this is poor for me (next month would be better). I asked Sho Source about this when they first mentioned they were starting up the ShoShop stuff for our platform. I'm looking to sell stuff to cover these costs.... either way, this is something I want and have been wanting for a while.

I'm going to pass on this until their work is verified by other members.

Is that CEG-speak for I don't have the money?

I don't think so Terry has over $3k in his suspension alone. I was hoping to hear some results from members on this, so I'm taking the same stace I'm really interested in this but seeing you guys argue about the port size(not tapered), the lim gasket, the fact that countless sho owners verified it is ture but this isn't made by sho its a similar design with the same port size, is it exact? I guess only beans will know.

What makes me the most skeptical if its worth it is that the person who started the group buy sold his sho lim on neco for $150 last year to go to a different manifold. So it make me wonder if its worth it to spend the money.

Here is a post I recall:

Your kidding right? So I sold my lower to go to a gutted LIM, some people like the gutted some dont. Im not doing this for me, Im doing it for others. Ask beans who has the lower now...there is nothing wrong with it. It worked fine.

 Whatever.

Just a update on the gasket, yes the felpro gaskets are big enough for this. Actually you probably could go bigger :D

port match+ paper gasket+razor blade+ TINY amount of RTV is how i rolled..... before i went to the 3L split port UIM. it sealed up great.

otherwise a dremel will clean it up to match.

Crap, i thought i took a picture of the whole thing. I'm fairly certain it was a perfect match. But I'll take another pic :blackeye:

I didn't mean to be a d-bag, sorry about that. I'm just fed up with every vehicle I own right now. I'm sure this is a good add-on, maybe I'm a sore loser for not getting it from you last time. I missed it by like two seconds. I was just hoping there were more answers with this as far as document improvements. I also didn't know your car came with it on, I had thoght you bought it then took it off because you didn't like it or think it was worth it and sold it.

We were going to do before and after dynos with it on my hybrid, but the before dyno got f'd up because my front bank secondaries came un-hooked. I think that Bill is going to re-dyno it on his GF's Cougar when he gets the prototype back, but keep in mind, it is a Cougar, not an SVT, or a 3L, so the numbers aren't going to be as significant as they would be for other applications.

Thanks Bill.

The prototype will be done when we know we have the 10 orders since all the
tooling and set up costs will be incurred even to make just the first LIM.
Our machinist did do all the measurements and make the calculations
necessary to bore the LIM (figured out what tooling will be required, how to
hold the casting, verified that we can bore to the specs we asked).

I really wish we had a sample to put in the ad, but it just does not exist
yet. I can say we are 100% confident we can do the work, and if something
did happen so we could not perform the work, we would issue a full refund.

This is also why we do not want anyone to send in their LIM until we know we
have the minimum 10 orders (so there is not wasted shipping). If 10 becomes
a problem, we could probably do a run of 5, but the price would be higher
due to set up and tooling costs being spread over a smaller group. I figure
we can make that call if we have a hard time getting 10.

Thanks again for posting it up.

Mike

ohhh your going though shosource. I had a sho guy over at my house a few weeks ago, and he spoke very highly of them, said they had a very professional jig for doing the boreing... I had planned on contacting them myself about this.

Eitherway, if they do make a setup for doing this, I will definitely be going through them at a later date.

Please make it clear to people what the stats are [that they will be bored to xx.xx and not tapered], an estimated time frame for production [that it will be a x week turnaround from the time that all LIMs are received], a way of marking the LIMS [so people don't get all pissy that the LIM they sent in is not the one that was returned to them], and MOST IMPORTANTLY people sending in their LIMs should not be reliant on them for them to operate their car [IE its either a project car that can sit or they have a spare]

Hey,

I am alive and able to post in the open forums:cool:

This is Mike from SHO Source. I posted a little about myself over in the new member section. I know about every inch of the Taurus SHO, but I am still a newbie with the Contour.

Before I get too far along, I do want to mention that the title of this thread and group buy should be changed for clarity. We are SHOSource.com and are not related to the SHO SHOP. If someone with more editing power than me, can change the title, that would be great.

I think most of the questions have been answered by Bill, but if you have any other questions, let me know. We are also working on adding more Contour items like suspension parts, MAFs, and any other parts you may want, but first thing first on this LIM GB.

Thanks to all for the kind words and support in this GB.

Thats music to my ears. Thanks and welcome aboard.
