pic says it all

nice...however, I would have thought with a 3L and 10psi you would have ran higher? did the graph look ok? Are those the corrected numbers?

yes those are corrected numbers .... from my understanding one would bump them up 7~10% to make them comparable to dynojet numbers. It was making ~100 more hp then the N/A 3Ls on the dyno.

graph looked alright, made the 272 ft-lbs of torque at ~3500 rpm. curves dropped as they normally do when the secondaries open. torque did come back bust did start to trail off at high rpms. The boost also started dropping in the higher rpm range, it also was rough looking. Pehaps that is because of the 3psi wastegate spring and the boost controller, should just put the 8 psi spring back in anyway. A/F was pretty consistant at ~12.2:1. Hp curve looks pretty normal, took a small dive ~6000 rpm and was going back up some.

now it was also a cold damp day so I don't know how much of an effect that had either.

I know the 3L how slightly low compression numbers but it was within reason. however it wasn't faster then a 2.5L after it went in.

plus now there is something odd going on. happened on the way home yesterday and again this afternoon. I was cruising in 4th because of being in traffic, so once it cleared I openned it up. around 5krpm it fell flat on its face, A/F guage went all the way lean, and the bov openned as I backed off the throttle as should. This morning in the damp conditions it was fine the best I could tell. Ran it through the car wash and it started doing the same thing again. so it seems like the injectors cut out for some reason ....

anyway I'll post the plot tomorrow when I scan it at work.

here are my plots

seems like you're chasing another electrical gremlin again...are you using the stock harness shroud under the UIM or did you just wrap your wires with tape?

check connections near the edges of the hood, where there is most likely to be water contact...I'm thinking MAF...

I was having trouble with bucking at high rpms in rainy conditions. I put dialectic grease on the spark plug boots and replaced my MAF with a used one, trying to chase down another problem. The bucking has stopped, dont know which one it was. But either one of them stopped the problem.

this wasn't bucking, it fell flat in its face and doesn't recover until I let off the gas.

sounds to me like your accelerator pump is shot..oh wait...these cars don't have carbs!
stupid fuel infection!

well I think I am ready to say this build up is complete. There are still a few things to tweak and work out but overall the car is running great. It also rolled over 100k miles during the fall meet this past weekend. The car also took Best Domestic at the CCSU Fall Meet Car Show this past Sunday and earned $50 in gas cards. So the last major hurdle this fall will be emissions. Its due in February so like two years ago I am goign to get it done early, just need to install the Cat pipe and swap tunes and let the self monitoring test run and hope for the best. if not the kit will need to come out and the car returned to a stock condition and retested. If not I'm screwed ....

anyway some end of the season photos. Both cars will pretty much be put into storage this week for the winter.

for some reason they seem alittle blurry but the full size ones are not.

with finishing the rear NPG brake kit yesterday all the major mods of this summer have been completed. There is still alittle fine tuning to do as one rotor is rubbing the braket alittle, need new rear brake pads and a new dust boot on one of the calipers. Car brakes nice. It also stay alittle more level under hard braking. Parking brake handle is pulling to the top but it holds. figuring that is just the almost worn out brake pads.

So there is still allitle tweaking here and there to do but I am very please with all the hard work put in since March of this year .

The other notable event was hitting the 100K mark during the fall meet. The 3L has been installed since 95K and the turbo ~96k. and as a side note this is the second time I had a vehicle roll 100k during a meet. The mystique roll 100k on my way to my first meet back in 02.

much thanks to all of those that helped out. First greg for helping swap the engine and all the other things here and there. Joey for a few months of going back and forth with datalogging and helping track a few issues down to nail a tune. And above all else Jess for putting up with me and the long hours many nights in a row that I spend working and obsessing over the car. I think she might enjoy riding as a passanger in the car more then I.

I'll be following up with some more pictures tonight.
