yup

Picked up this Canon today. Had to get a good point and shoot for now until I can afford the DSLR I want. I am taking Digital Photography 1 this semester and needed something that I could do more with than the old Elph I have. We just started using Photoshop too and it's really interesting to play around with it.

One thing that did impress me was the audio of blu ray as well. You really can tell a difference

I dunno, I just have 2.1 channel

Not bad, I think that's the same p&s my friend has. If you just want a DSLR to get started you can get used ones for very cheap. I would look for a Canon 20D or 30D...

Shipping is pretty cheap. :)

Seriously though you can do it a lot cheaper than that. That is ridiculous. Here is a site I found just searching for a long cable:

http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/hdmi-component-75-feet-1394.shtml

Ooo I found this which sounds pretty cool though: http://www.hdmi.org/installers/longcablelengths.aspx

You can run HDMI through an existing Cat5 network cable with some extra electronics and an external power source. That would be pretty cool to run HDMI signals through a home network.

Ha Ha! I found this though: http://www.amazon.com/Video-Audio-C...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266849314&sr=1-23

Not sure why the 75 foot cable is so much. It must come with a few solid gold bars and a mail order bride.

i do recall being a noob. i'd like to think i knew some things, and didnt dream tooooo big. i remember tony getting me to come on the site, and finding that my IMRC was out. i knew what a variable runner intake was, and i knew it had one, but i assumed it was vaccum operated and didnt think it might be out. :) so... thanks tony. or should i say.... THANKS FUGGER! look at how much money and time you made me waste~!

ah yes my noob days... and to think I was just going to swap the bumpers, side skirts, and interior out of the SVT I ended up buying and putting it on my parents green 98 SE

Ah good times. Thanks CEG to convincing me to fix the car I bought for $600  Now instead of having a sweet ride for $1200... I have one for $14k and counting
