yup

I think we might be doing that on saturday as well. :) Do I want crappies or northerns?
Whatever is biting! I guess it depends if they're 6" crappies and 40" northerns or 12" crappie and 20" northern :)

Yikes! I wouldn't touch that with a 20 foot pole! If you can afford it, look at this little bad ride. I have been trying to convince the wife to let me get it but she says no stick shifts (in case I ever need to take the honda she won't be stranded)

That's not a bad little rig. I should get into something like that for a new DD. I think my Cougar still has about another year in it though. Hit 172k on it yesterday.

I test drove one earlier this year. It was a fun little car. No where near the power of the contour, but still very respectable for a DD. Nice features, handled great and shifted EXACTLY like a tour (Guess that is to be expected since it is a tour tranny ). The only thing is ST's are a little hard to come across...but I still think they are way better than a FSVT.

Odds are we would be in the 9-12 inch crappie range and 20-25 inch northern range. But I am trying to convince the wife to go northern fishing at Ore-be-Gone. Guy I bowl with is spearing 20 lb fish out of there.

I agree about the autos to a point. Unfortunately when you have bad joints, manuals are very unattractive. Also I've looked around a lot... I have yet to see an SVT with under 150k for less than 2k. At least ones that aren't literally falling apart or half rusted away.

It was super fun starting the car this morning and driving to work (-10F on my trip computer). I have my Cougar outside for the moment until I get off my ass and move the Jag into my spare garage. The Cougar was starting to overheat for some crazy reason on the way into work. I shut it off when it got up near the red and let it sit for a bit. Then I started it up and it was fine the rest of the way to work. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe the thermostat or some coolant was frozen that finally let go. The car was warmed up before I left the house. Odd..

I had -29F on my way into work this morning. I think my dad's hit -35F. Get a good battery and full synthetic oil. Makes all the difference in the world starting your car when it gets this cold. I have never had a garage to park my car in, so you find out what makes it easiest to get these things going. Either that or have a jumper back charged in the house. :) That was my first thought when you said that as well, odds are you had a slushy antifreeze mix or an air pocket.

It was 45 degrees in my garage when I started my car this morning.

My truck definitely hated life for a few minutes when I fired it up outside yesterday for the first time in 3 days.

Drove from Minneapolis, MN to Eau Clare, WI (3L motor pickup) and then on to Green Bay, WI (picked up a 2004 Mazda 6s) and back to Minneapolis, MN yesterday. Left at 10am and got back into town at 7:30pm. Trip went pretty well other than the blizzard and the massive wind gusts making the trailer sway back and forth. Car is in great shape but the 3L shot a rod out of the block so a new one is going in. Hoping to bust ass and get it done this weekend. Car has nearly every option with a 5-speed manual. Pricing at about $7k. Body/interior are in very good shape. Should be a fun daily driver for someone.

Car did start fine. It has a really good battery. Oil is cheap because the motor is on it's way out. I was more commenting on the amount of "fun" I had walking out there to start it. lol

Road trip involving a car and engine purchase without any pictures??? Almost ban-worthy.

Post pics of the car! I'd love to see that mazda 6, I would LOVE to have one... Would trade my Mystique for one any day...

Happy? Note the blizzard picture. Borrowed my buddies 2012 F150 Ecoboost again. That thing pulls like a dream. We were in a rush so we didn't really document the trip. The Mazda shot a rod through the side of the block. I have yet to see how bad the damage is. Looks fine from up top.

Cougar goes into the shop as the Outback comes home.

Now I'm ready for some snow!

Got a buyer already lined up for the Mazda. He stopped by last night and he loved it. Old motor is almost out. I should have it out tonight. Hopefully the new one will be in and running this weekend so I can get it out of here quick.
That was fast! Not surprising though, at about 7k that's a great deal! I didn't know they made a v6 manual until I read your post.

As long as it drives as well as it looks it will be a great deal for the buyer. I'm hoping the trans and cats are ok. I know the cats on these cars are iffy so I'm a little worried about them.
