DAMN!!!!

First car that I drove to work and such during HS was a '73 Ford Maverick with the 250ci straight 6 and automatic. Dark Jade Green, AM radio, no A/C, column shifter, and rusted out behind the rear wheels into the trunk. Great car.

There was a 79 F-100 pickup, 302 V8, Auto, in here somewhere too.

1987 Ford Taurus MT-5 Wagon.

It had a slightly modified Tempo 2.3 HSC four-cylinder with a longer stroke specific to Taurus applications, providing 2.5 liters. ...
... It was a great car, and I really liked being able to change the oil filter standing up -- it was reachable from underhood. Ran her almost 182,000 miles.
Second car, and the first car that I had title to was when I bought my parent's 87 Ford Taurus, with the 2.5L Tempo derived I4. ATX, no MT-5 for me. Loved that car too, was at 208K miles when it was totaled in a fender bender in an icy intersection. Doesn't take much damage to total a 13 year old car with more than 200K on it - a headlight, radiator, and hood.

Third was my 99 Cougar, bought used (it was 6 months old) to replace the Taurus. Fourth was (Still is) the 01 Cougar, and as a daily driver there was a 88 Olds Cutlass, a 93 Ford Tempo, and now a 98 Contour (still sitting in the garage :( ) The Tempo was the best daily driver I've had since the Taurus, not the greatest on the highway, but peppy around town.

Started with the stock 2400 cc and rebuilt it:
You sure that wasn't a 2300? I don't recall a 2400 when I was working for Ford during those years. Before that they had an English 1600 or a German 2000 cc engine available. There is a 2500 but that is a twin plug truck motor.
Karl

first was a 96 'sport'
cell_phone_my_car.jpg

'bought' it from my step-dad (got it for 1k, so cheaper than i would have anywhere else most likely at the time). Eventually it spun a bearing, so I went and bought an SVT

sold that one before I left for two years...
I miss both those cars with a passion!

first car:

87 Fiero GT
5-speed, Lowered, Exhaust (read LOUD), Centerforce Clutch, ect.ect

fiero_17.jpg

hit by an uninsured driver 9/11/04.

the motor, suspension, and other parts live on in my current Fiero. now people will understand my obsession with the little cars :)

1975 Pinto Hatchback
2.8L V6 (German)
Automatic
75,000 Original miles (in 1991)
No A/C
AM Radio with one speaker in the center of the Dash.
Blue with Blue interior (no rust!!)

Damn I used to love smoking Chevy Monza's with it..

Tottaled (no it didn't explode after impact).

Would probably still be on the road (somewhere) if it wasn't wrecked.
No pictures..

NO pic of my first 67 Chevy Impala (low Rider)
pic of my 2nd 75 Pinto, not me in the pic

Pinto FTL!!! Luckily you guys never had any problems, or got rear ended... I did a research paper on the Ford Pinto, love this video...
