pic says it all

Yeah, I swung by last night to drop off some parts for some local folk. We took a quick trip on 91 and it was pretty much freakin awesome.

so using my palm pilot and OBDII software (Auterra) I got some hp and torque numbers. Not sure how accurate they are but they seems to make sense. I did a number of runs in 2nd gear, one in third. Most of the numbers where in the same ball park and some where much lower so I threw those out. I got the lower numbers when I started at a lower rpm.

The software calculates hp and torque based on inputed info like weight, gear ratio, tire diameter, temp, altitude, drag coefficient and frontal area. I do have to tune in some of those numbers too.

All runs at 6 PSI

Run 1
251 hp @ 5400 rpm
273 lbs/ft @ 4800 rpm

Run 2
240 hp @ 4800 rpm
279 lb/ft @ 4700 rpm

Run 3
228 hp @ 7000 rpm
202 lb/ft @ 5500 rpm

Run 4
234 hp @ 5100 rpm
253 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm

the few runs that where much lower where in the 180 range which I don't believe.

I'll have to try some soon at different boost levels.

I also made an acceleration run. I didn't launch to hard as I had to cross an intersection.

0 to 60 in 7.4 sec
79.1 mpg in 1/8th mile
10.4 sec in the 1/8th mile

Those are way off, I'm guessing you will be somewhere just north of 245whp and 255wtq.

I think we need to get a betting pool opened lol. Run #1 sure would be nice though.

WOOT!!!!!! its not smoking anymore!!!!:laugh::laugh:

sorry just alittle happy at the moment. I got and installed the turbo coupe PCV valve this afternoon and then took the car for a rip on the highway. There was no smoke on closed throttle after boost. So now I can get back on track with a few other things and get that tune dialed in.

what turbo coupe model year did you go with on the PCV, or are they all the same? I'm not having the problems you were, but am considering changing over as a safety measure...

I went to my local Ford dealer and asked for a turbocoupe pcv valve. I think all years should be the same but I asked for one from a 86. I forget where I found that part number but they where able to look it up. cost about $7 and they had to order it of course.

Thanks! Glad to hear you've got things running pretty well, now...we'll have to race, again ;)

I wish it was running realy, really well. but it pissed me off today.

So I run up to gregs to see if he can help with the driver side tie rod end. Took use about 2 hours and we had to cut the old one off. The threads where so rusty that the outer end wouldn't move for anything. The new one was tough to put on also.

Then waiting to get onto 291 after leaving my speedo is bouncing around alittle. then I get on the highway and crank the a/c and it doesn't blow any cold air. and all of this time when ever I come to a stop it will not idle, it sits at 1200 rpm.

I get back to the storage unit and park it ... then it idles fine. then I try the AC again and it works and is blowing cold air.

The stupid wastegate gasket is letting go again and leaking.

I got so much sun this afternoon that when I went to fill up with gas at stop and shop I got confused of the price of gas. So the pump goes and discounts the price, I look at it and am like wtf it went from 4.29 to 4.74 .... I did this twice and asked about it. seems that the price went down to 3.74 from 4.29 .... :blackeye:

I just am feeling normal again from the sun this afternoon ... and a bit more calm about the car.

so I am about to go see if I can straighten my steering wheel out. after I changed the passanger side tie rod end the wheel shifter to the right and now is about 45 degrees off while driving down the road. I needed an alignment anyway ...

and I almost forgot, the intake tube to the maf is alittle long the way I have it. it actually sits amost into the maf. so i have to pull the bumper and cut that back some so that it fits better also.

ok progress was made.

I got clamps on the dpfe hoses so hopefully those don't come off again. down side was I noticed a spot where one melted the main power cable alittle.

I also was able to straighten out the steering wheel some. still needs an alignment but it should be ok for now.

oh yeah the alternator still doesn't like to charge right as far as I am concerned. It like getting down to 13 volts in this heat.
