Sean's CSVT #5906 Build Thread !

So the first connector has been confirmed as the IMRC plug.

The plug coming off the rail in the middle of the IAc and TB plug is apparently a coolant temp sensor, which I plan to locate where it plugs in later off your description
Yes it should be easy to find

The grey plug is a DPFE sensor, which I believe is EGR related and since I'm running the ST220, I don't plug it in anywhere..

The DPFE isn't needed either it will throw a code if it's not tuned out, but doesn't have any effect on the car from my experience

And the plug coming off it with the green connector is the knock sensor, so I have that plugged in...hopefully in the right spot! Can anyone explain/have a pic of where its supposed to plug in to confirm its correct?

It goes on the block on the firewall side of the motor, mid block to the left of on the driver side of the rear exhaust manifold / upper cat

And the blue plugs are the down+upstream 02s, which I have capped off, so I'm going to tape those off and tuck them away somewhere.

Sounds good, about the other plug in your mystery plug pic, was it the triangle shaped VSS?

So that leaves me with trying to find locations for plugs today, ill post more pics if I can't find out where they go. Thanks to Pblack and striker2 so far for youe help once again!

Hope that helped.. Answers are in Red

Triangle shaped plug? Any photos of this? I don't remember seeing one. Ill take another look when I go down soon, where would the VSS plug go to plug in? it comes off the tranny near firewall right?

Ok in garage now. My VSS plug is plugged in already, so this leaves:

Green is knock sensor right? Then I need to see if I have a spot for it on my block...if not, is it okay to leave unplugged? and this is also the dpfe sensor which i can also leave taped off since im running no egr/st220?

There's a black plug, 2 prong off the black plastic rail along the rear valvecover. That's the purple wire and white with red striped one, so maybe this ones for EGR? So I'd tape it off..?

ok so the purple/white+red wired plug has an off center tab, matching the stock uim black box thing where the vac lines hook up to. so im assuimg thats where it went?? meaning i can leave it unhooked/taped off.....

and for knock, its supposed to be somewhere here right?

Ill check it out in the morning and take pics of my knock sensor and I'll look up in the morning and post pics for ya..

sounds good, looks like mine doesnt run one so i taped it off. now im trying to do a serpentine belt........ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Could tonight be the night? Probably cutting it close but, it COULD happen.....lets see how the day goes :) ...off to my garage I go, and maybe the SVT will come alive at somepoint today, which would make me very happy!!

And hey, its my 22nd birthday on the 18th (this Thursday), so what better present could I receive than my car back!!!!!!

Good luck! Once its running comes all the troubleshooting and details! Those seem to take forever!

thx! so i dont run one then as i dont have that. problem solved!!

today was a bit slow, got the passenger CV installed and suspension back in. started to install the ypipe as well, but didnt finish. Broke the swaybar stabilizer link in the process today so i had to clean up and go grab a new one, so i didnt even get a chance to get the serp belt on. Oh well...still made more progress though.

update:

y-pipe is on, made a TB stop for the 65mm that i bought. now trying to figure out the throttle cable....with the way im doing it, the gas pedal is on the floor still...

message me if you have any more questions, and im still interested in seeing that's 65mm TB on your Mondeo UIM ! lets get pics man !!!!!!

Ive since put the throttle cable bracket on as well, and hooked up the sensor there too. As it stands now, today i did:

- Got my black lugs, Installed the 18s
- Did an oilchange
- took the car off stands

which leaves:

- get coolant, dot3 fluid and P/S fluid, tranny fluid

- fix my starter remote wire (it broke out of the plug, will wire it straight instead)

- bleed the clutch

- top up tranny fluid w/ ford honey

- hook up my BAT intake/Pud shield

- battery tray + battery

- front bumper, headlights, wire HID headlight + foglights

- grille

- pay for + install my pre98 lid w/lip spoiler

- possibly tinted tails as well...not sure fully yet.

I hope to have most of that done tomorrow night, so aiming for maybe a saturday night / sunday start? at the latest...trunk isnt fully painted yet so that will wait a couple days.

Good luck! Seems like both of us have had ambitious completion dates that just didn't happen... But the 3L Cougar is on the road now under temp plates and getting a tune Wednesday with Steeda. Driving it around looking for any bugs and learning how to drive stick while i'm at it. lol

bleeding the clutch tomorrow and fixing the remote wire, as well as fluids + bumper/headlights/grille install will be done 100%. Im going to try and find a good solution to the throttle cable slack, if not, ill use zipties. The rest of the work needing to be done will be tackled this weekend for sure.

Now I came across another issue - last year my driver door latch broke, and my door couldnt lock closed. So i fixed it with a new one, and always opened the door from the outside while its been in the garage....well today was my first time sitting in my car since last september, and from the inside, the door wont open! the handle feels normal and moves fully like it should, but it just doesnt open the door. So now I have to remove my doorpanel (ugh, such a pain with the panels I have) and try to figure out wtf is wrong

clutch is bled, remote wire is fixed, bumper & headlights & grille are on and wired up the HIDS, hid fogs also wired up..throttlecable slack has been temporarily fixed with the ziptie method.

Havent gotten to fixing the door yet, but I got the panel off and spent a good hour or so trying to do something...bending the rod caused the door at one point, to only open via the inside handle, Bent it another way and bam, it opened both ways BUTTTTT, of course, the lock feature wont work manually. So until i get the battery in and see if that will lock it, the door wont lock :(

Heres a few teaser shots too.....
