yup

I barely made it home yesterday in the yagwar. It was supposed to hold off until about 1-2 so I thought I'd be ok. It started coming down much earlier. I left around 12 and barely made it up the 394 to 94W ramp. It was spinning the tires all the way up the ramp. I had just enough momentum to get to the peak. Then when I got home I couldn't get it in the garage until I scrapped the 1" of snow off the driveway and got a running start to slide it in.

The Cougar is out again. It rocks in the snow. The Quaife really helps pull it through.

I gave in and put my snow tires back on the Cougar, so it is back to rocking in the snow as well. Had to shovel the driveway (hill) to get it into the garage to change them though, was not happening with the ASX's and 6" of snow.

Would not have been a problem if I hadn't decided to tear into my truck a couple of days ago, now it's in the garage waiting for parts...

Buying a boat on Friday. Just hope the ice is out for opener. We still have 30 inches on Lake Vermilion. Starting friday though, we are going to finally be in the 60's and 70's, so hopefully that will start eating away at it. Shouldn't be making ice over night either....lows will be mid 30's to low 40's.

Nice weather these past few days. Woohoo!

I think I'm going to start modding the yagwar. Looking at a supercharger pulley swap, intake porting, and a few exterior trim pieces (CF rear diffuser, CF splitter fins). I'd like to make it somewhat different than the normal ones. Also my 100k warranty isn't what I thought it was so no use in holding off now. At 45k miles now and the remaining warranty is "critical" components only. My last visit to the dealer didn't go well. They didn't tell me I'd be paying so I pick it up and they tried to charge me $300 for (CEL check, injector cleaner, and coolant top off). After a nice chat with the manager they took it down to $100 which is still ridiculous.

Cougar needs a little work before going into my spare garage. I need to swap in a different set of injectors. I think my old ones have some issues so I picked up another set (newer style with a better spray pattern). The new 3L is running strong.

My wife finally got her 09 Maxima SV back from Raymonds after it was nearly totaled out a few months back (rear ended). $14k to repair and she had a concussion and back troubles (chiro 3 times a week still). She's working with a lawyer to see what her options are. Trying to sell a car with a mark like that is going to be an issue and the back pain can last a long time.

Not likely up there, you could drive to the Rainy River though. What kind of boat?

1999 Alumacraft Magnam 16 1/2 foot. Really nice condition, wasn't stored outside at all. Has a 1990 40 horse Mercury 2 stroke direct oil injected motor. Electric trim and start. It is a tiller, I wanted a console steering but the price and condition on this was too good to pass up. Motor has a 30 day warranty as well. Really nice trail to boot!

That sounds a lot like my trips to the VW dealer on CPO warranty claims, total BS.

And yeah, the title is an issue for the Maxima now, we had a "dealer buyback" titled Ford Escape and it was next to impossible to trade in, nobody wanted it and that vehicle had never been in an accident. I figure our Escape was worth 15-20 % less considering the title.

Looks like a nice boat, personally for fishing I like the tiller over the console anyway. My dad's boat is a 2000 Pro V 1775 with a tiller, pretty similar boat. We haven't been out yet this year because we've been chasing turkeys around, but maybe in the next week or two we will get it out on the water!

More pics! We are going to throw on a transom electric trolling motor and fish finder. The front of it is already wired up for a trolling motor, but the one the wifes parents we have is for the rear....and I don't want to hook it up to the normal starting battery. Time to run new wire from the front to the rear?

You should just have to run from wherever the trolling battery(ies) are to the rear. Is that front setup for a 12V or 24V trolling motor? And is that what voltage trolling motor you have?

It is a 12 volt. Actually, I think I am going to put a new plug into the back that accepts trolling motor plugs. And it looks like I have some time to do that since ice won't most likely be out in time for opener....that and it is going to be a whopping 45 degrees on Saturday.

Vermilion still has like 20 inches on it. The little pond in Eveleth is open though....maybe I can do laps with my boat in it.

Took the boat out last Thursday. I suck at driving a tiller. :) Like the boat but for some reason it doesn't trim out like I want. The front rides high even when you have people up there.

How many people and what's the max HP rating for that boat? I've found with our tiller it is barely enough motor for the size boat. Ours is a 70hp with an 80hp max rating, and it only really trims out all the way with 2 people. With 3 people and gear we are always pushing a little water. Our old boat was even worse though.
