Sean's CSVT #5906 Build Thread !

On a bad note though, my passenger GCK axle has a torn boot now due to my friend not moving it while dropping the motor in, and it [pinched and tore it pretty good, so theres another $100 needed to spend before i can get this thing on the road and reveal its "full new look" from when it was put away :(

Parts stores do sell just a cv boot clamps and grease for $15 or so. If you wanna save some cash. As long as you havent gotten any road grit in it why toss the axle?

ive been told that those boots are sh*tty and arent worth it, but i guess its worth a try and save myself some $$

Hmmm, I'd be wary about those boots. If I remember, sitting as low, there's an extreme angle on the joints/boots, and if they're crappy boots, I don't see them lasting very long.

sort of O/T but, my coolant reservoir has a tube on the rear right ppointing towards the firewall. What hose connects to this? I cant seem to find anything in that area...

Don't you have another Contour? I just used my DD Cougar for reference and what not. :)

Chinese Blueprint we call it at work. lol

If it angles off towards the fire wall,it is for overflow and there is normally a small tube coming off that causes coolant to run in-between the accessory drive and unibody

Someone needs to make a sweet reservoir tank with a pressure relief valve, that has a cool stem on the side with a clear tube that shows the level. The WR one is, ehhh. I heard stories of it expanding.

Like so

I dont mind the stock reservoir. I painted the top half black, as well as my P/S reservoir and it made it look 100x better haha

Stock doesn't cut it for me. I'm gonna see if one of my fabrication friends can put together one for me.

it does the job. ive never had problems so why mess with it, its not a showcar anyways so i dont care really. maybe if i go all powdercoated parts in the bay and polished things id look into getting that done lol but i dont care :p

Went to the wreckers today and grabbed an overflow reservoir hose, just to keep it clean looking. Worked out well, as they had a Mystique there with an upgraded cupholder, cost me $10! Also picked up new rad support bolts/hardware so that should get my rad back in, so my to-do list is getting much smaller!

small update, got most of the wiring figured out now, got my rad+ fan installed, and got my ST220 bolted on. Now to figure out the vaccuum setup with that, and then its smooth sailing from there. Installed my custom catback from noyzboyz and that was a mission with how low the car is sitting in the rear haha.

Also pulled my broken passenger CV axle, and waiting for my new one. All that leaves would be to install my WeaponR Y pipe, one more hard coolant line at the front of the motor, get my trunk + tinted tails and then start putting the car back together, new fluids, oil change and then reassemble the headlights/grille/bumper etc pending it starts and runs of course!
