Vortech build

Eaton coupler is a match!!!!!!!!! Too awesome.

Its a snug fit i think it needs to be hammered on. This is great news.

Wish I had paid closer attention to this, and your most recent problem. I could have told you the same thing was missing! I see those couplers, or "blocks" you were referring to, at work. Part of the place I work for builds superchargers.
Silly me, I could have helped!

Start helping! I dunno what i'm doing!

Get me blocks. I doubt they would be the same... But then agian.

You will need to install the SC with the drivetrain in the car. The rest of the prep work can be done with out. With the head unit installed the transmission hits the brake master cylinder and the jackshaft hits the headlight support piece. I can't remember if you can install the head unit mounting plate without it being in the car or not.

That's one of the downfalls of this kit. It seems like Vortech designed it around an engine/trans outside the car rather than with it in the car (or ability to install/remove the drivetrain with it installed). It certainly isn't an easy to install setup.

you can get the mounting plate in, but its not the most fun. some of the bolts are difficult to get at

install is easier with rad's out

subframe down/lowered at the front

front roll resistors out, rear loose

don't forget to grind a flat on the connecting block which sits next to the water pump housing.

or

Installing the engine complete on the subframe from below might work for you.

glad to see you're bringing the parts together ..... G.

Really??? Ughhhh. My poor knuckles.

I thought i could drop it like this picture i found.. Guess not.

Thank you for the steps, the little things make for the most time lost..

Yeah its on sale for 6500 on svtp a real bargain. Too bad it has that ugly body kit, i think that hurts its sale.

I'm glad you posted that picture. You can really see all of the parts as opposed to seeing it in a car and all put together.

I have no problem paying for one, at my current point im going to send the whole mess to 99mystique and have a machine shop copy his piece..Tell them your dumb contour friend is trying to supercharge and is missing one of them, i dont want you to get you in trouble.

Update
For the housing i am missing, 99mystiqueATX is going to be doing the rebuild/refurbish of the kit to get it back to usable condition, with creating the missing piece. - Golf clap for him! Thanks a bunch!

Got a bunch more •••• ordered, ALMOST DONE!!!! (getting down to the nickle and dime stuff)

-Msds Header (Answer the damn phone!)
-Rad Spacers (i'll make these as i go)
- Jaged Intercooler
- Pipe for oil pan drain. (3/8 NPT X2" )
- More tuning.
- Oil and Coolant
- Some hardware, vaccum lnes, clamps, stuff listed below... blah blah blah

Let's see what else...

- I got a bosch bypass valve, going to need some hose for that, and a way to plumb it back into the intake, post maf, pre charger, Does someone off hand know the ID hose for that? Looks pretty big... 3/4"-1"?

- I need to plumb the front valve cover, 5/8.. Does that go before the charger as well?
- How about pipe or hose size needed to extend the hoses for radiator movement? I know the coolant bottle lowest needs a extension, 5/8" 3.25 Is that all that is needed?
- Anything else..........

I'd like to thank all of you so far for contributing, i couldn't do it with out you! Except Michael, he has to earn it through blood on my sharp car during installation.

I think you're right on the bypass sizing. Take a look and if you need I can check mine.

Are you talking about the valve cover breather? If so that will need to go before the S/C. I have both of mine teed in together and then routed that to the inlet side of the S/C.

I think you just need the extension for the coolant tank, that 5/8" 3.25" sounds about right in size. I assume you got that from the parts list?
